February was an eventful month, from my and my boyfriend’s birthday month, to going on our first weekend getaway, going to a concert, celebrating one year in recovery and so much more, but I had three goals in mind for this month…
1. Celebrating my Birthday [Achieved]
Of course it’s my birthday every year, but this year is my first birthday in recovery. I woke up in the morning with the brightest smile on my face (and this is highly unusual as I am NOT a morning person! And nor will I ever be), all happy that it was my birthday.
Work greeted me with open arms, the children in the Early School (my department) also sung happy birthday to me… and overall it was a good day. My boyfriend couldn’t celebrate with me as he was without a car and couldn’t travel much, but I celebrated it with my BFF and older sister. We watched Harry Potter and got many nice presents during my birthday week.
2. Weekend Getaway
I’d been looking forward to this for AAAAAAAGES. After two weeks recovering from gastric flu and not seeing my boyfriend, I got to spend a weekend annoying the living banjos out of him… and also kick back and relax hehehe.
We went to the Santana Hotel in Bugibba. No regrets there. Great service, great location close to all amenities (and by close, I mean there is an actual convenience store next door). Even though we only had B&B, next I will most definitely book half-board because the food was simply exquisite!
3. Symphonic Beatles
This event was organised by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra in aid of Qalb it-Tfal (translated to: Children’s Hearts), which is a hospital in Malta that helps parents of prematurely born babies pay for surgeries and doctors’ bills.
After a meltdown about how insecure I felt about what I was wearing and spotting my ex, who coincidentally happened to be sitting several seats away IN THE SAME ROW, the event started. I was really happy with how the event turned out though. All songs were beautifully sung with guests like popular local singer Amber.
So this is what February was like. I’d like to thank everyone for the birthday greetings, presents, likes, comments and overall support. YOU ROCK ❤
As a few of you may already know, from the 1st until 5th of August I was on holiday with my older sister. We travelled to Budapest and also spent a day in Vienna. It was an amazing adventure and I’ve seen so many things, and enjoyed learning about a whole new culture (as I usually do when travelling to a new country).
I will be showing you what I bought in relation to fashion, accessories, souvenirs and more (in no chronological order).
Let’s start shall we…?
I got this first piece from Stradivarius. It’s a blue playsuit with half-length sleeves and a floral print. It shows the cleavage a it too much for my likings so I’ll be sewing a piece of it.
The next thing I got is yet another playsuit, but this time from a store called C&A. It’s got thin spaghetti straps, and a lace detail on the V-neck and thigh bits. It’s completely covered with a cute little floral print on a black background. I’ve already worn this on my way back home from the holiday, and let me tell you: it looks and feels good wearing it!
Next up are these two cute tank tops from Tezenis. One has a comic strip-style type of print, while the other has cute little bananas all over it.
Up next is this cute bikini top and bottom (not as a set) from H&M. I needed a girlier bikini than the swimsuit I have and this was the result! I love the floral print on the top and the crochet-like part on the bottoms.
These shorts are also from H&M. I love everything about it, from the print down to its style.
I also got this cute Pusheen pyjama trousers from H&M. I couldn’t resist, I just had to buy them!
This top is also from H&M. It has birds perching on a plant all over it. Love it!
These trousers are also from H&M (will this ever end? Nope, up next are accessories!). They’re a big big round the legs but I like how it fits.
Up next are the accessories I got from H&M, which are… a lot, as much as I bought clothes.
I got this baby pink compact selfie stick, which I needed as I was borrowing my dad’s for the holiday. Worth every penny.
Also got this transparent make-up bag, which I needed as my old one is a bit too small.
I also bought an eyebrow fixing brush and this body spray in a pink macaroon smell. The smell is AMAZING.
Also from H&M is this cute pug sharpener. For those who know me really well, they know how much I love pugs… and dogs in general.
I also got two pairs of shoes, one black and the other with blue and white stripes.
Last two items from H&M are these knee-high socks and sunglasses pouch which says ‘Be Wild and Wander’ on it.
Next up are items I got from Claire’s! They had a buy 6 pay for 3 offer so me and my older sister got three items each, and this are my things!
First up is this cute polar bear with sparkly blue eyes, which I named Gunther (for those who watch Adventure Time know what I mean).
Second and third item I got were these two beautiful golden hair bands, one with leaves on it and the other with little flowers.
I got this mini USB ventilator from a store called Colosseum in Vienna. Was slightly disappointed that it didn’t work when I tried it at my hotel room.
I think I got these from Colosseum as well. They’re white trainers with a rubbery type front. They’re a bit dirty as I’d worn them with the C&A playsuit already shown previously.
I also don’t know where I got this tshirt from, but for sure it’s from Vienna. It has cat-themed graphics all over it, which I think are cute.
From Promod I got this comfy dress. It has a bit of rope that ties round the waist and has yellow flowers all over it. And the bonus? It has POCKETS. I love pockets on dresses.
I got this wire from a store called Tiger. It had loads of home decors and school supplies. It was my sister’s heaven (she’s a teacher).
From a vintage store I got these pair of sunglasses and this cute shirt.
Last but not least (finally) are the clothes I got from Reserved.
First up is this striped top with midi sleeves.
Up next is this black dress with the shoulder cut out thingies (dunno what else to call them but that).
I also got these lightweight trousers.
… And there’s the mandatory souvenirs. I collect snowglobes, which is why I bought two: one from Vienna and the other from Budapest.
That’s all I got from Budapest and Vienna. I hope you enjoy my hauls. If you want more of these posts please let me know! That’s it from me; see you on the flip side!
My Spotify probably says more about me than anything else, even this whole blog. I listen to music on Spotify every chance I get (poor old CDs, just sitting there, waiting to be played). So let’s begin our journey into the labyrinth that is my taste in music… and also myself.
I’m a rock chick. Always have been, always will be. I have any type of rock music, from old school to modern, hard to soft. Zeppelin, Queen, Journey are my top three at the moment.
People who know me will know this is a no-brainer. I love The Beatles with all my heart. They have helped me with my self-esteem ages before the anxiety kicked in. I have all their songs in my playlist because, well, why not?
Starting from cheesy Eurovision tunes and ending with Ginuwine’s ‘Pony’ and Kelis’ ‘Milkshake’. Need I say more?
Today’s Top Hits
Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lopez, Nick Jonas and loads more. These are just to name a few favourites.
S Club 7, Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls are amongst my favourite childhood acts of all time.
She deals with mental health like me, so listening to her is a must. Her music really speaks to me.
Whether I’m feeling the love or not, love songs is a definite in my playlist. Ranging from old to modern, I have it all. (Stay tuned for a future post regarding songs to play at your wedding!). most of them, if you must know, are by Phil Collins, god of all love songs.
So this was my sweet, short and simple post about what kind of music I listen to basically. So let me know in the comments; what type of music are you jamming to right now? And what type of music do you listen to in general? That’s it from me, see you on the flip side!
