#MusicMondays: The Who ‘Quadrophenia’

Happy Monday everybody and thanks for stopping by my blog again 🙂 As I said in my 2019 Plans post, I have been planning a new series for this year, which I will call #MusicMondays. I have recently bought the 100 Albums Bucket List Scratch-Off Poster from Amazon and thought why not review all the albums from the poster on a random Monday?! Click here to see all #MusicMonday posts.

My opinion

Before I give my personal opinion about the album, I just want to say I’m a big fan of The Who. My dad likes their music, and I grew up hearing their music on cassette tapes in my dad’s old car, and I still listen to them to date.

The first track, I Am The Sea, was unlike anything I expected. It’s just the sound of the sea and someone shouting lyrics in the background at a low volume, but starting the second track, the album was what you would expect from the band, with a little twist: it’s a rock opera album. So expect pieces similar to Queen’s Innuendo and Bohemian Rhapsody, just not as grand.

As with last week, it was tough choosing just one track that I like, but The Real Me (Side One) and Bell Boy (Side Two) have to take the cake. The drum solos by the iconic Keith Moon are as amazing as the first and last 5 albums the band released (this one being the sixth and middle one).

Bottom line? If you’re a rock-loving person and haven’t listened to this gem, what are you waiting for?!?!
