October Favourites #10

Introducing another one of my new series for 2018: monthly favourites! This is where I describe how my month went, kind of like how I did with my #ClaireNotes last year, but with more general things that you may know about! I hope you enjoy! Let me know what your favourites from October were!

This Nivea moisturiser has been my holy grail this month. With the change in weather – going from sunny to windy and rainy in a matter of hours sometimes – has proven very bad for my skin, where I would go from very oily to very dry skin, and this helped keeping my skin smooth and radiant throughout the day.

I have been wearing my white Converse high-tops day in and day out this month. I’m a very simple girl, so these with simple denim jeans and a cute top were my whole month’s outfit for work.

This is probably one of the best series this year. The plot is:

“In the summer of 1992, Hugh and Olivia Crain, along with their children Steven, Shirley, Theodora, Luke and Eleanor, temporarily move into Hill House while they renovate the mansion. Their intent was to sell it at a profit and build their own house, as designed by Olivia. However, unexpected repairs necessitate the lengthening of their stay. At the same time, they begin to experience increasing paranormal phenomena that results in a tragic loss and the family fleeing from the house. 26 years later, the Crain siblings and their estranged father reunite after tragedy strikes again, and they are all forced to confront how their time in Hill House had affected each of them.”

I binge-watched the whole season in ONE SITTING. Just two tips whilst watching this show:

  1. Don’t watch it in the dark if you’re easily scared, and
  2. Look in the background. Always look in the background of every scene!

“Ten-year-old Lewis goes to live with his oddball uncle in a creaky old house that contains a mysterious `tick tock’ noise. He soon learns that Uncle Jonathan and his feisty neighbour, Mrs Zimmerman, are powerful practitioners of the magic arts. When Lewis accidentally awakens the dead, the town’s sleepy facade suddenly springs to life, revealing a secret and dangerous world of witches, warlocks and deadly curses.”

This was the only movie I watched in October, and totally worth it! The performances the three main protagonists – Jack Black, Cate Blanchett and Owen Vaccaro – gave was absolutely amazing. A cute movie about magic, family and self-identity. In love.

I have been obsessed with Tenacious D for ages, since secondary school probably. This dynamic rock duo consists of singer Jack Black (the same Jack Black that starred in The House with a Clock in its Walls) and guitarist Kyle Glass, and the lyrics to their songs are so hilarious yet simple enough to understand.

This is one of my favourite music videos of theirs…

… and these are my favourite songs:

And you know you’re a true Jack Black fan when you can see his facial expressions when you listen to the songs 😉

Since I didn’t have a favourite celebrity of the month, I decided to dedicate a spot for my favourite blog of the month, and this month’s blog of the month is Air Force Girlfriend in Germany. She isn’t only an up-and-coming blogger, but I have known this beautiful girl for over a decade now. I shared some very fun times with her, and I am soo happy to see her following her dreams of blogging, because she’s always wanted to, but never really knew where to start.

Her blog is about a “A 23 year old from the island of Malta who found herself in the crazy and exciting world of military relationships.”
