How To: Creative Block

Yet another new series for my blog. This time it’s a ‘How to’/tips/hacks sort of thing! Expect tips related to writing, health, beauty, fitness… everything you can think of! If you want tips and/or hacks on a topic in particular, let me know in the comments below! Just a small disclaimer, these tips are based on both my research and personal experience. If you disagree with any of these, you can add and remove your own choices 🙂

So take out your notepads, put the kettle on and get writing!

  1. SLEEP
Sleep s the best, easiest and cheapest [because it’s FREE!] creative stimulative.

  2. READ [PARTICULARLY CLASSICS]
Masters of words cannot inspire you? Skip this step and go to 3.

  3. COLOUR CODING
This is super fun in my opinion. Place a sticky note at the side of the book in particular colours: for example, orane for books you read and pink for those you haven’t.

  4. MORE SLEEP
Because it is never too much to relax your mind and get it going afterwards.

  5. PROCRASTINATE
Force yourself into it. It usually works with getting your mind going. Sounds weird but works miracles!

  6. WEEP
And then do some more when you’re done.

  7. SURF THE INTERWEBS
Write meaningless tweets. Check on your old secondary school friends and feel smug because you’ve made it and they didn’t 😉

  8. WATCH SHOWS/MOVIES
It may seem like an easy thing, but most ideas (I’m looking at you, Fifty Shades!) come from movies or TV shows.

  9. NATURE
Get out there and go for a walk. Become one with the nature. Ideas will come when you least expect them!

  10. REMEMBER THIS
You’re lucky you’re a creative person to begin with. Get to work N O W!
